Abstract

This work was presented within the "Basque Creators" Series during the XI Summer Courses 1992 of the Public University of the Basque Country, and studies the rational doubt in the scientific work of Prof. Mitxelena. It is the note of his strong personality endowed with laudable receptive sensibility. With an overlapped shyness he tries to go deeply into the ground of the traditional names of the Basque people and into the secrets of their language.
