Sudurkaritasun fonologikoa Larrainen: /h̃/ bai, baina bokalik ez [Nasalidad fonológica en Larraine: /h̃/ sí, pero vocales no]
Resumen
En suletino se han solido describir vocales nasalizadas, pero jamás se han analizado fonéticamente. Según Lafon (1958), en Larraine sólo hay vocales nasalizadas alrededor de la aspiración proveniente de *n. Hemos analizado las producciones grabadas con el nasómetro nasalance para comprobar fonéticamente las impresiones de Lafon. En nuestros datos, /V/ y /Ṽ/ tienen niveles de nasalance similares y, por tanto, concluimos que /Ṽ/ se ha perdido. Por otro lado, como indica Lafon, las vocales de las secuencias /h̃V/ y /Vh̃/ tienen valores más altos. Sin embargo, para algunos hablantes no hay diferencias /V/, /Ṽ/, /h̃V/ y /Vh̃/, lo cual sugiere que /h̃/ también está en vías de desaparecer. Queremos subrayar la necesidad de documentar y analizar estos fenómenos antes de que la pérdida sea irreversible.
