Abstract

In 1512, once Navarre was conquered, Ferdinand the Catholic ordered to raise a great castle in Pamplona that turned the city into an unassailable fortified town. The archaeological intervention carried out in 2005 because of the construction of the underground parking in the Avenues Carlos III and Roncesvalles, allowed to recover and to put in value part of the defensive structures of the above mentioned castle. In the same way, the intervention allowed to document and to put in value the south flank of the Bastion of the Queen.
