Abstract

The El Villar Roman Villa (Ablitas, Navarra) is one of the largest sites of rural nature and Roman chronology known in the Ribera del Ebro area. Except some archaeological field survey, excavations or archaeological explorations never had been made on this terrain. Nowadays, after the last five excavation campaigns and the geophysical exploration study have been conducted, we begin to know the great archaeological potential offered by these well-conserved remains that may allow, in successive years, to recover full floor of the complex of buildings. In addition to rooms with the presence of mosaics or hypocaust, we found pottery, coins and objects of iron, bone and bronze, indicating the wealth that this Roman enclave had.
