Abstract

Between the years 2010 and 2015, an international team from Aditu Servicios Arqueológicos S. L. exhumed some 300 individuals from the cemetery at Santa María de Zamartze, in the municipality of Uharte-Arakil, with a view to obtain the bioprofile of the Medieval Navarrese population. The presence under the sanctuary of the Roman mansio of Aracaeli provided the opportunity of deepening our knowledge about the chronological sequence in the region in Antiquity, and will contribute to improve our knowledge of the Navarrese society during the Roman presence in the territory.
