Abstract

An analysis is made of two exhumations from the Civil War (1936-1939) conducted in Navarra, presenting the findings obtained and the differentiating and common factors. The aim was to consider the methodology used and to determine the feasibility of investigations of this type. Both exhumations were performed before the establishment of the official protocols for forensic investigations of this nature, which come within the area of Human Rights (Tidball-Binz, 2012). The two examples described have also helped to demonstrate the relevance of these investigations and have played a part in promoting a program that is now institutional in the Autonomous Community of Navarra.
