Análisis técnico y de huellas de uso aplicados al estudio de cuatro caninos atróficos de ciervo perforados del yacimiento de la cueva de Zatoya (Abaurrea Alta, Navarra)
[Technical and use-wear analysis applied to the study of four perforated red deer atrophied canines from the Zatoya cave site (Abaurrea Alta, Navarre)]
Abstract
The prehistoric cave site of Zatoya provided a small set of decorative elements, including four pierced red deer atrophied canines. Through a technological study and an usewear analysis it has been possible to approach the modes of transformation and ornamental use of these objects. The results obtained have been integrated into the different chronological-cultural and functional contexts of the deposits where they were found. Finally, the complexity of the aesthetic, symbolic and/or social connotations that can be derived from these adornments is discussed.
