Abstract

The archaeological site of La Peña´s shelter (Marañón, Navarre) is a basic reference to learn about the last groups of hunters and gatherers that settled in the upper Ebro valley at the end of the Mesolithic period. In this work, the results of an use-wear analysis of the flint lithic equipment, recovered at d level, dated in the geometric Mesolithic, are released. The functional information obtained has provided keys to reconstruct,
more broadly, the activities that were carried out, and that can be inserted into a set of strategies for sourcing and transforming resources, developed by the human group that occupied the site.
