Puesta en valor del castillo de Larraga. II campaña arqueológica, 2020 [Valorisation of Larraga castle. 2nd archaeological campaign, 2020]
Abstract
Work was carried out at two points of interest during this second archaeological campaign at Larraga castle. Firstly, on visible wall remains, which revealed a stretch of mediaeval wall five metres long and three and a half metres high, dating from between 1404 and 1450, and, secondly, the discovery of the floor of the central building of the 19th-century fort, paved with quartzite. This floor allowed us to locate the central area of the fortification by extrapolating the evidence using a map from the nineteenth century. Both sectors reported elements of great value for the valorisation of the site.
