Excavación arqueológica en el castillo de Valtierra. Campaña 2022 [Archaeological excavation at Valtierra castle. 2022 campaign]

Abstract

This campaign showed the transformations that the habitat on the hill underwent during the High and Late Middle Ages. At least three phases of occupation were observed. Stage I: (11th-12th centu­ry), the oldest, which has not been excavated, corresponds to the theft and collapse of the walls of a building. Stage II: (13th-14th century) was built following the levelling of stage I. Stage III (15th-16th century) is from when the settlement was abandoned and fell into ruin.
