Koskobilo II (Olazti), intervenciones arqueológicas de 2024 [Koskobilo II (Olazti): Archaeological Interventions of 2024]
Abstract
We present the work carried out during the fifth archaeological-paleontological field season at the Koskobilo II cave site (Olazti) in 2024. The primary objective of the project is to characterize the various phases of human occupation within the cave and to correlate them with regional patterns of human settlement. Excavations conducted in the sectors near the cave entrance and beneath the platform have revealed four archaeological layers corresponding to distinct episodes of human activity. The techno-typological analysis of the lithic artifacts suggests a possible attribution to different periods within the Upper Paleolithic and, potentially, the Mesolithic.
