Intervenciones arqueológicas en Koskobilo (Olazti), resumen de la campaña de 2025 [Archaeological excavations in Koskobilo (Olazti), summary of the 2025 campaign]
Abstract
This paper presents the work carried out during the sixth archaeological and palaeontological excavation campaign at the Koskobilo II cave site and the Kb-06 cavity in Olazti in 2025. The main objective was to characterise the various phases of human occupation of the cavity and correlate them with regional evidence of settlement. Excavations at the cave entrance and under the platform allowed us to identify and excavate four archaeological levels corresponding to different prehistoric human occupation periods. The techno-typological characteristics of the lithic material suggest attribution to various periods of the Upper Palaeolithic, Epipalaeolithic and possibly Mesolithic.
