La estatua togada de Pompelo: historia de su estudio y nuevos resultados analíticos [The Toga-clad Statue of Pompelo: history of its study and novel analytical results]
Abstract
This paper presents an interdisciplinary study of the so-called «togated statue of Pompelo», discovered in Pamplona in 1895 and recently recovered for conservation and scientific study. Through a review of its material history and past restoration interventions, the article incorporates for the first time the results of non-invasive radiographic and physicochemical studies. These analyses clearly distinguish original parts from modern additions, identify casting and assembly techniques, characterize the alloys, and study the corrosion processes.
