Abstract

Izal is a villa of Salazar Pyrenean Valley in the NE of Navarre, at an altitude of 715 meters, surrounded by mountains. The house walls are made of masonry and lime mortar plaster, carved stone in the holes and corners of the facade. Lumber and wooden slabs in floors and roof covered with ceramic tiles.

The major reform of the distribution of the house was the elimination of traditional fireplace, replaced by cooking range with the disappearance of fume hoods and chimneys features. Bread ovens also disappeared.

With the introduction of bathroom sanitary conditions improved dramatically. The evolution of the traditional way of life has conditioned changes in the structure of the house. Even keeping livestock as their main activity...
