El yugo vasco de Anacleto Artzelus

Abstract

This study recovers the process of hand making the so-called Basque yoke with the help of Anacleto Artzelus Ormazabal. Born in Pamplona and recently deceased, he inherited the craft of yoke making from his father and continued to carry it out until the 1950’s, moment in which the mechanization of agriculture put an end to this craft together with the traditional farming methods.
