Censo de neveros de Navarra [Census of ice houses in Navarre]

Abstract

In 2010, the researcher Antxon Aguirre Sorondo published the article «Ice houses in Navarre. The conservation and sale of snow and ice», which analyses the harvesting of snow and ice as a natural resource used by humans for various purposes. The article also describes the main types of houses or pits to store snow and ice. This is the second and hitherto-unpublished part of that study. In it, the late author tried to write up an inventory of ice houses and collect information about these structures throughout Navarre.
