Abstract

In this second article on numeration systems, the author studies the vigesimal model. 1) He analyses vigesimal structure of the Basque method of computation which he considers to conform to rules and representative of the vigesimal system. 2) He presents and argues its possible origin in detail (RP-20), based on a pre-computational counting system of the “Yukaguires” who settled in the River Kolymá basin in north-east Siberia. 3) He emphasises the universality of the “mute calculation”, the origin of which is believed to be RP-20 or “Pre-computational Rule”.
