Abstract

An account of the news referring to the basque writer Juan Martin de Ibero (1729-1783) is given in this work, while his texts will appear in another periodical publication. Besides, a historical and linguistic background of the place he was born at and of the village parish priest of which he was, Munarritz and Izu respectively, is offered. The texts he wrote belonging to a wider collection, we try to find out its origin and make known for that purpose a number of priests who served at the surrounding villages.
