Abstract

This paper presents a collection of letters of an extraordinary interest for distinct aspects of research. Historically, they offer first hand information about the archive of the Academy of the Basque Language which is characterized by the documentary gaps of the time. Linguistically, their concessions collect the various tendencies present in the painstaking gestation of the unified verb and the tensions it conveyed. From a biographic and literary point of view, they openly express the distinctive features of the temperament and personality of the most skilled craftsmen of the literary unification.
