Salazar /Almiradío. Muga lingüística (1605)
Abstract
The North-eastern Navarrese Valleys of Roncal, Salazar and Urraul, Basque, formed in 1605 the linguistic border with Aragón, the Almiradío and Romanzado. The inhabitants of Ustés were Spanish and the inhabitants of Uscarrés were Basque; the people here were bilingual; they did not speak Spanish fluently. The mother language was the ordinary on the street, at Church and at the Council, without being affected by the relationship between people with a different language.
