Abstract

This work, written by Michelena 30 years ago, is the outline of a project that was then justa dream and after the completion of the questioning in the field of basque dialectology remains a valuable testimony of the first steps.

Its publication is a homage to Prince L. L. Bonaparte, father of modern dialectology, in the centenary of his death. It constitutes a modest contribution to the International Congress of Dialectology organized by Euskaltzaindia to coincide with the inauguration of their new premises in Bilbao.
