Abstract

This work is about the finding of an artificial bear burial in a cavern in Navarra whose remains are dated by carbon 14 in 8.600 years. This date shows the treatment given to this animal by the inhabitants of the area where it appeared, including the situation of toponymies that refer to the bear, as well as several considerations of different authors on the subject.
