Abstract

The roman city of Santa Criz de Eslava offers one of the best and more splendid corpus of epigraphic evidence on the territory of ancient Vascones. With tituli attested in the forum of the city as well as in its burial area but also with a very remarkable catalogue of documents coming from the uillae and fundi of the rural areas, its study and analysis, from the tipological as well as from the material and formal point of view, provides us a very wide description on the way the epigraphic habit took place in the Vascones’ territory between 1st and 3rd centuries AD.
