Abstract
This paper deals with the fragment of a simpulum found in the excavations at the catedral of Pamplona (Spain). The type is a form of transition between the typical late republican simpula and the habitual form during the Principate. In addition, with regard to the original form, it represents along with other Hispanic findings a variant which is proposed to be called type Pompelo.
