Abstract

The site is located next to the bridge into Peralta / Azkoien over the Arga river on the south bank of the Molinar river. The archaeological intervention included seven surveys inside and outside the chapel. The systematisation of the information obtained allows us to venture, based on an inscription found and analysis of the building systems, that building of the chapel may have begun in the fifteenth century. We now know more about the phases of construction and the uses made of the building: place of worship and burial, Carlist stronghold in the nineteenth-century conflicts and municipal slaughterhouse until the twentieth century.
