El valle de Erro y la emigración a California: Pedro Mari Murillo [The Erro valley and the emigration to America: Pedro Mari Murillo]
Abstract
This article reflects the emigration process to California of a shepherd, paradigm of the emigration of the Navarre valleys. His stay in California is a reflection of the lives of many young people who worked in the valleys of San Joaquin and Fresno. The post-war historical and social context of this Pyrenean valley is analyzed from an autobiographical point of view, in his stay at that time when the contracts were already beginning. The reasons for emigration, living with other pastors, the fight against loneliness, work in harsh conditions and, finally, the reasons for the return are subject to analysis.
