El traje tradicional roncalés en documentos notariales del valle de Roncal [Traditional costume of Roncal Valley (Navarra) through its notarial documents]
Abstract
In this paper we study the Roncal traditional costume pieces found in notarial documents of Roncal Valley.We have studied a time period ranging from mid sixteenth to the late nineteenth century. In this period of time we have analyzed the evolution of the clothes that composed the folk costume, both male and female and also the children’s but with more difficulty. It can be concluded that while men’s clothes do not seem to have changed much, the women’s clothing underwent a profound transformation during the eighteenth century.
