Abstract

In this work I put the focus on the differences and similarities in the academic work of José Miguel Barandiaran and Julio Caro Baroja regarding the Basque language. Consequently, I also pay attention to the textual evidence gathered by these authors and their followers in order to analyze production in Euskera, the Basque history, the current sociolinguistic situation and the anthropological basis for the interest and study of this language.
