La alimentación en Monreal: trabajo de campo etnográfico [Eating habits in Monreal: ethnographic fieldwork]
Abstract
This article describes the results of the application of the section on eating habits in José Miguel de Barandiaran’s Guide for an ethnographic survey to the Navarrese locality of Monreal. The informants’ responses detail the dietary changes witnessed in their neighbourhoods in the 20th century and the importance of such things as bread making, pig slaughtering and food preservation to the traditional economy. The article is completed with a glossary of food-related terms collected in Monreal.
