Alfarería de Estella: cuchareros de los Echeverría [Estella’s pottery: the Echeverria cuchareros]
Abstract
This article examines one of the most popular potteries, and of aesthetic quality, Estella pottery; specifically we approach the pottery of Echeverría family who work in the second half of the nineteenth century and early twentieth century. Within this pottery, try to study a specific type as that of the cuchareros, decorative pieces with large and varied glaze which they served to place them after washing cutlery. Attached to the study a catalog of 27 specimens of cuchareros of this alfar. All Estella pottery has great ethnographic interest because it was the last pottery from Navarre on staying alive until the late 50s of last century.
