Recogida de los nombres de las casas del Valle del Roncal según el proyecto Alaze-Aezeo [The collection of house names from Roncal Valley according to the alaze-aezeo project]

Abstract

We present in this article the methodological bases that guided the collection of the names of the Roncal Valley houses within the alaze-aezeo project. The work was carried out by a team of researchers from the Valley during the years 2009-2017. The main objective of their work was to collect the names of the houses to avoid their loss. The methodology used had two main pillars: consultation in archives and oral surveys. As a main conclusion, it should be noted that the Basque language, Gascon, Castilian and the Navarre-Aragonese romance have left their mark on the oiconomy of the valley and that the habit of naming houses is still alive in the Roncal Valley.
