Arabako ekialdea eta Sakanako continuumaren azterketa diakronikoa

  • José Luis Erdozia Mauleon Euskal Filologian doktorea [Spain]

Abstract

This article studies the common characteristics between the Basque language which at an earlier date was used in the eastern part of Alava and the language now used in the Valley of Sakana (above all, in Burunda) in the west of Navarra. To this end, material (Landuchio, Lazarraga, Portal, Gamiz, Garcia de Albeniz) from the XVI, XVII and XVIII centuries has been used and com - pared with the language now spoken in Sakana. The toponymy of both areas has also been taken into account. This is, therefore, a diachronic study which may prove useful when it comes to backing the theory of the geolectal continuum between the two areas in the epochs mentioned.
