Algunas consideraciones sobre la presencia del pluralizador verbal -it- en el dialecto vizcaíno, y en el nor-nork alocutivo de los dialectos orientales
Abstract
1. Comparing the common Biscayan zer-nork with its allocutive, we can see that:
The inflection dauz (zer-nork) is the origin of the single central and western Biscayan allocutive dxosak. We cannot, therefore, call dauz a recent innovation. The pluraliser -it- may have arrived from eastern Biscayan speech.
2. Comparison of the eastern zer-nori-nork (dizkik, dauzkik,...), the neutral zer-nork (ditu) and its allocutive zer-iri-nork (ditik) with the Upper Navarran equivalents, which have a uniform pluraliser, may lead us to believe that:
a. The pluralisation -it- is the original and only pluralisation of *edun in all the conjugations from the centre and east of the country.
b. The -z- from any nori inflection, within what is today known as “edun”, should be related with the nucleus -ra-u, phonetically incompatible with the pre-nuclear -it-.
