Abstract

The extension and presence of the basque people in the region of the Ribagorza seems undeniable if we attend to the toponymy that it has been obtened in this zone. Concretely, the geographical zone of the Middle Valley of the Ésera, which it constitutes western limit with the Sobrarbe, presents a quantity of toponyms whose linguistic filiation it is related to the basque linguistic  element: toponyms as Argoné, Bilsé, Larún or Naspún, for example.  They can be studied under the optic of the lexicology and the basque historical  phonetic
