Abstract

In this article we present data and analysis of the basic intonation models of the Basque spoken in Eibar. For the purposes of this study, we have chosen sentences containing only words with unmarked stress and verb at the end position. A phonetic and phonological study of the content is offered together with the data obtained.

In one of the sections we deal with the problem of data normalisation and come to suggest an alternative methodology. We finally compare the results concerning this variety with those of others we know of, so as to set a starting point for the future creation of a Basque-language intonation model map.
