Información magisterial en la correspondencia de Holmer y Mitxelena (1952)
Abstract
This third instalment of the professional correspondence between the Swedish linguist, Nils M. Holmer, and Luis Mitxelena, brings together the original documents from the year 1952, in the chronological series started in IKER 10 (1950) and FLV 75 (1951). The study of the old accent represents the most outstanding area of linguistic doubt for the protagonists. Among the most significant facts is the creation of the “Manuel de Larramendi” Chair in the Basque Language at the University of Salamanca, which was later occupied by Mitxelena. The conclusion of the book “Apellidos Vascos (Basque Surnames) is announced and the satisfactory results of the visit to the Roncal Valley, where the last speakers of that dialect are interviewed, are also mentioned.
