Elantxobeko ahozko narrazioak

Abstract

In this article, we present various models of oral narratives collected in Elantxobe. With regard to the subject matter, this includes stories, beliefs, anecdotes and jokes. Apart from any possible literary and ethnographic value they may have, we can say that the principal characteristics of local variety are very well reflected in this type of text. However, in addition to the linguistic peculiarities, the main characteristics of the oral system of narration are also taken in. Their publication is justified for this reason alone as they provide suitable material for the possible description of the Basque oral grammar rules. We have set out a version in standard Basque next to the original version of the texts with the object of facilitating their comprehension.
