Abstract

Texts written by diverse authors are presented in this piece in which the names of the inhabitants of the different villages are figured in itallics in order that the forms may be recorded as they are employed by each author. At the same time, the suffixes -tiar and -liar are studied, which are only used in the Basque Country of the northern Pyrenees.

The works of some authors have been totally expurgated, whilst others only in part. An evaluation of certain of the most recent foreign uses is also made.
