A propos de comparaisons de noms d'insectes en kartvèle et en basque

Abstract

This article wants to show, once again, as I have done it in my thesis doctoral in 1992, that the comparisons between basque words and kartvelian words are not convincing at all. They have an appearance of rigour, but it is very easy to see how they lack of rigour precisely. Who can believe that kartvelian *gṛṭ -il and basque ardi are the same word? Ardi “flea” is a derived sense of ardi “ewe”.
