Abstract

Among the many manuscripts by Joaquin Lizarraga written in the basque dialect of Pamplona, there is a treatise on Marriage. It is dated in 1782 and has remained unpublished until now. It is a theologicalpastoral commentary on this sacrament. Divided in 8 sermons. In this article the original text of the last one is rendered, with its Spanish translation and sorne linguistic notes. The autor explains the criteria to be considered when choosing the spouse. Moral values must be put befare any materialistic consideration. The text is specially interesting because of its anthropological and social background.
