La adaptación del Patrimonio Oral Vasco como recurso simbólico de la comunidad vasca (1960-1975) [The Basque Oral Heritage’s adaptation to a Basque community’s symbolic resource (1960-1975)]
Abstract
The Basque Oral Heritage (BOH) became fundamental in the cultural reconversion between 1960 and 1975. Three points can help us to accurately perceive the success and the influence of BOH throughout the Basque community: the corpus` own characteristics, the BOH`s capacity to suggest, and its liturgical perception. The adaptation of BOH`s collective perception, and the reformulation of the corpus` symbolic function were based on these aspects. In consequence, a synthesis of those ideas will provide us with the basis to understand BOH`s contemporary conversion to a community’s symbolic resource.
