Abstract

This article describes the Basque spoken in Lizarragabengoa. This version of the language, although currently alive and kicking, is in serious danger of disappearing, at least as far as use is concerned, the unified version of the language (among the younger population) and the Basque spoken in Arbizu, above all (among the rest as a result of geographical proximity), dominating day-to-day speech.
