Abstract

The origin of the Library Service of the University of Navarra is in 1952, coinciding with the start of the University. This article describes the history of the service and its main functions at present – and, in particular, the work of the first General Librarian, Álvaro d’Ors, who designed and launched a library model that is still in operation today. Teaching and research support are hallmarks of the day-to-day activities of Library Services staff, whose roles have evolved in response to changes in the academic environment.
