Los manuales escolares durante el primer franquismo (1939-1959), un acercamiento al caso navarro. [School textbooks during the early Francoist period (1939-1959), a focus on the case of Navarra]

Abstract

This work studies the evolution of the school textbooks used in Spain from 1939 to 1959. In this way, it shows how these textbooks served to instil the ideology that Franco’s regime wished to consolidate. Furthermore, to contribute to the study of the school textbooks, an analysis was made of five textbooks edited and published in Navarra in this same period, making it possible to see how Navarra was following the same steps that were being taken on the national scene.
