Ciga new portrait of his time in Paris, the journalist and the philological Eustaquio Echauri Martínez

Abstract

We report a discovery in a Spanish private collection of a portrait painted by Javier Ciga Echandi (Pamplona, 1877-1960) during his time in Paris (1912-1914): the journalist and philologist Eustaquio Echauri Martínez (1873-1953), whose biography is added. And he describes the aesthetic values of the painting in relation to the painters who influenced his portraits: Édouard Manet and José Garnelo.
