Pedro de Viñaburu Poza. New contributions to the life and works of an XVIII century Navarrese pharmacist

Abstract

Pedro de Viñaburu y Poza (1691-1757) was an apothecary born in Olite (Old Kingdom of Navarra). He wrote a very important book for the education of the young apothecaries called Cartilla pharmaceutica. We have found the most important dates of his life which remained still unpublished. He established his pharmacy in Pamplona (Spain) and was a member of the Old College of San Cosme and San Damián of the City of Pamplona. We can find him as the organiser of the pharmacy of the Hospital General de Pamplona. He was recruited by the central authorities of Spain in order to analyse and rapport on the main natural waters in the Kingdom of Navarra.
