Festejos por la canonización de Fernando III en Pamplona. Su materialización en el plano de las artes
Abstract
This article talks about the celebration made in Pamplona, due to the canonization of Saint Ferndinand the king, in 1671. It offers a brief panorama of that process, the preparations made by the city council, and the festival and procession’s report. It also gives notices about a canvas preserved in the ciy hall, painted by Juan de Gaspar, a local artist, in 1671, in order to commemorate this interesting event. Eventually an overview of San Ferdinand’s iconography in the Kingdom of Navarre is offered.
