Abstract
In 1990, I presented a paper at the II Congress on the History of Navarra which analysed an episode from the Crónica Najerense, demonstrating the historical veracity of what had, until then, been taken for legend. From the analysis, it could be deduced that Queen Estefanía had been married to another person unknown to us before marrying King García of Navarra. Now, thanks to a coetaneous French chronicle, we have discovered that this first husband was, in fact, the Norman adventurer Roger de Tosni and we can analyse his personality and lineage, as well as the true ancestry of the Queen, who did not belong to the house of Foix, as defended until now, but to that of...
