Abstract

The importance of the miraculous appearance of our Lady of Guadalupe was enphasized by oral (sermons) and graphic (engraves and paintings) means, and correspondingly the devotion to her spreaded first in Mexico, and from there to Spain and also to other several European countries.
There are almost three thousand paintings of our Lady of Guadalupe in Spain, painted in Mexico in the 17th and 18th centuries. Most of them are in Andalusia (169), and the greatest number of them are in Seville. In Navarra there are two paintings signed by Antonio de Torres in Mexico -one of them is in Tudela (1711), and the  second one (1730), that never before has been reported, is located in the Trinity shrine...
