Abstract

The painter Diego Polo, of probable Navarran descent, was most probably instructed in the workshop of the Aragonese painter Martín Bemat, whose influence is more than clear. After returning to his native land, Polo worked with the master Terín on numer ous joint works –Eguía, Estella and Muruzábal, among others–. His field of action ex tended from Valdizarbe–which can be explained by his living and having his workshop in  Puente la Reina–, the Estella region –due to his relationship with the master Terín, under the patronage of Juan de Eguía– and the valleys of Arce and Urraúl Alto.
